Women Making History
In honor of International Women's Day and Women's History Month, we kicked off a series that shines a light on the strong women who are making history now. We want you to get to know them and the important work they are doing to create a better future for working parents.
Kamala Harris has declared the exodus of the 2.2 million women who have left the workforce since Covid a national emergency. But even before Covid, our nation’s lack of support for working parents caused almost half of all mothers to leave the workforce for an average of two years. Most of these women didn’t want to leave their careers. They just couldn’t find the support they needed to stay in the game.
It’s harder to be a working parent in the U.S. than in any other developed country in the world. But it doesn’t have to be this way. This series will feature the entrepreneurs, employee activists, researchers, business leaders, advocates and more who are creating a better future for all of us by elevating and resourcing parents at work.
